Science Education

At a glance

The Science Education program at UT Dallas, provided by the Department of Science/Mathematics Education, prepares students to teach science in elementary, middle, and high school classrooms. It is designed by top-tier faculty and offers core courses on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) teaching.

The program provides students with fundamental skills in cognition, education research, assessment and effective pedagogical practices. It also offers a thesis option for those pursuing doctoral-level research.

Students in this program go on to become teachers and mentors who empower their young students to become future pioneers of sustainability, defenders of public health and leaders of technological innovation. They have the power to shape young minds, inspire curiosity and instill a love of learning in the next generation.

This degree may be completed in conjunction with the UTeach Dallas secondary STEM teacher preparation program and/or with other STEM content graduate programs at the University.
