Studying Total Solar Eclipse in Dallas Could Benefit Telecommunications

What will happen when Dallas is plunged into total darkness for almost four minutes on an afternoon this April? How will space particles react? UT Dallas physics professor Dr. Fabiano Rodrigues will pursue these questions during the total solar eclipse on April 8. He and his team will collect data to see how the ionosphere’s particles change when the moon covers the sun, which could benefit radio and GPS devices.
