NSM Fast Track Fellowship

NSM Fast Track Fellowship

This fellowship awards up to $1,500 on a competitive basis to support master’s education in the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. The award is given in three installments:

  1. $250 in the semester the student starts enrollment in the Fast Track program and begins graduate work;
  2. $500 in the semester the student matriculates into the MS program, provided the MS matriculation is within one academic year of receiving the undergraduate degree; and
  3. $750 in the semester the student is expected to graduate from the MS program, provided the MS graduation is within two academic years of starting in the MS program.

Only a limited number of awards are available.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Must meet the University and the program-specific Fast Track admission requirements
  • Installment #1: Fast Track enrollment in an NSM MS program
  • Installment #2: Matriculation in an NSM MS program within one academic year of receiving the undergraduate degree and good academic standing
  • Installment #3: Expected graduation within two academic years of matriculating in the MS program and good academic standing
  • Students already enrolled in Fast Track or who have previously taken a graduate course in NSM are not eligible.

How to Apply

Please fill out the NSM Fast Track Fellowship Application Form. This application requires uploading three documents:

  1. a personal essay that discusses the motivation, background, goals, and timeline for completion of both undergraduate and MS degrees;
  2. the completed Fast Track Program Admission Application paperwork that was submitted to the NSM Advising Office; and
  3. current UT Dallas transcript.
