BioMEDICAL SCIENCES

At a glance

The Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences is a transdiciplinary degree that provides a comprehensive foundation in biology, chemistry, physics, and data science. Designed for students aspiring to enter medical, dental, and other health-related professional schools, the program offers two specialized tracks—both of which fulfill the course requirements for these schools—while allowing students to pursue diverse career goals.

  • Professional Track: Intended for students seeking in-depth knowledge of biology, this track includes advanced courses in molecular and cell biology, as well as human physiology. Students also have opportunities for hands-on research in biomedical or preclinical settings, equipping them with the theoretical knowledge and practical experience needed to excel in healthcare fields.
  • Data Analytics Track: Designed for students who are interested in applying quantitative and analytical skills to healthcare and biosciences, this track includes courses in biostatistics, epidemiology, bioinformatics, and machine learning. Students will develop the technical expertise to analyze large datasets for clinical research and contribute to data-driven decision-making in healthcare.

With a focus on transdisciplinary curriculum the program integrates core biomedical sciences with quantitative analysis. This unique approach aligns with the growing demand for expertise in data analytics within healthcare and biosciences, preparing students to address complex challenges in these fields

Career Potential

This degree program prepares students for success in entering medical, dental, and other health-related professional schools, including optometry, pharmacy, physician assistant programs, physical therapy, and podiatry. Some graduates will work for government agencies or private foundations, while others may pursue careers in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industries. Additionally, many will enter graduate programs in modern areas of biology, where they contribute to biomedical discovery and innovation.

Graduates can aspire to gain admission to medical, dental, or other health-related professional schools, or pursue careers such as:

  • Biomedical Researcher
  • Biostatistician
  • Epidemiologist
  • Biotechnology Specialist
  • Public Health Analyst
  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist
  • Pharmaceutical Sales Representative
