The Department of Geosciences at UTD is pleased to provide limited scholarship/fellowship support to its students (for example, graduate students receiving stipend support through Teaching Assistant or Research Assistant positions).

Every spring, undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled and in good academic standing are encouraged to apply.  The intent of this financial support is to foster your academic success at UTD!

Funding such support originates from a number of sources, in particular from our devoted alumni, present and past, and also from previous and existing faculty in the department.

Interest generated on specific contributions to the department are completely consistent with the wishes of the donor.  The financial support that the department allocates typically ranges from $500 to $1500 for each student who applies for support, again assuming that they are in good academic standing.  Students must apply for such financial support using the Department of Geosciences financial support application form below, to which students are to attach a CV and an unofficial transcript.  Please do not apply for specific “scholarships” that you may locate on other websites; this will just result in confusion and inconveniences to you.  The department “student scholarship committee” will evaluate all applications and decide which sources of support are to be used to assist students who have applied.  Students will be notified of the level of support they are to receive in late April/early May.

The completed application must be hand-delivered or mailed as a single pdf file by Monday, April 12,
2021, no later than 5 p.m. to: Ms. Kyong Edwards, Business Administrator, ROC 2.301F. Department of Geosciences.
